Taking risks is all about being brave. This week, I had to be brave. A new opportunity came up for a job at a new school with new challenges. I had to be brave. I had to take it. I had to accept the challenge.

I have been a qualified teacher since July of 2016 and in that time I have taught in two schools, both of which have been in the same Trust, and experienced both the highs and lows of being a classroom teacher and progressed into middle leadership. But, I needed something different. My job was becoming stagnant and most importantly I couldn't guarantee being able to follow my passion for EYFS and Forest School.

But, something happened. An opportunity presented itself to me and I just had to take it. It wasn't an easy decision because of the financial implications or because of moving away from what I know but I had to do it.

I went for an interview on Tuesday and absolutely loved it! I felt confident, I felt empowered and most importantly I felt a connection. Then, later that day I received a phone call from the HR department offering me the job and I just had to accept. You know that feeling you get when something is just the right thing to do. I felt that.

In September, I will be beginning my new chapter as a teacher with responsibility for starting Forest School. I am so excited!
